Diversity Ambassador

Dr. J. Nikol Jackson-Beckham

Dr. Janel Nikol Jackson Beckham is the Chair and Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at Randolph College. She has a storied history in the brewing community that includes over a decade of avid homebrewing and extensive research and writing about beer and its place in American culture. She has delivered keynote addresses, presentations and guest lectures on the culture and inclusiveness of craft beer.

As the Brewers Association’s first ever Diversity Ambassador, she spearheads the Brewers Association’s diversity efforts. She works closely with the Brewers Association’s Diversity Committee and travels to Brewers Association events such as Craft Brewers Conference and Homebrew Con, state guild meetings, and other industry events to speak about the value of diversity and inclusion in craft beer.

She has joined her experience in craft beer with her research on the diversity and inclusion space to provide this five part series of best practice resources to Brewers Association members.
