Media that have not worked with BA staff before should review the spokesperson profiles below and email the appropriate contact based on the nature of the inquiry. Media that have worked with Julia Herz or Paul Gatza may set a media appointment directly by emailing them. Please state your deadline and whether you would prefer an email reply or telephone appointment.
Julia Herz – Craft Beer Program Director
Julia is a beer educator and voice for U.S. craft breweries. She is also the publisher of CraftBeer.com, the BA’s beer lover facing website.

Bart Watson, Ph.D. – Chief Economist
Bart is in charge of the BA’s statistical resources, including production surveys, economic analysis, and market research.
In addition to providing industry data for members, his responsibilities include interacting with the media on economic and statistical issues.

Ann Obenchain – Marketing Director
Ann develops and leads the strategic direction of all BA marketing activities, including key events such as the Great American Beer Festival.
