Media that have not worked with BA staff before should review the spokesperson profiles below and email the appropriate contact based on the nature of the inquiry. Media that have worked with Julia Herz or Paul Gatza may set a media appointment directly by emailing them. Please state your deadline and whether you would prefer an email reply or telephone appointment.
Julia Herz – Craft Beer Program Director
Julia is an award winning homebrewer, Certified Cicerone®, BJCP beer judge and all around beer lover. Her focus at the association is on resources and education on craft beer, general statistics on the craft beer industry, beer styles and trends and beer and food pairing. Bart Watson, Ph.D. – Chief Economist
Bart is in charge of the BA’s statistical resources, including production surveys, economic analysis, and market research.
In addition to providing industry data for members, his responsibilities include interacting with the media on economic and statistical issues.

Paul’s responsibilities include serving as a spokesman with the media for the national perspective on craft brewing and the enjoyment of craft beer, maintaining industry statistics, and helping Brewers Association members get information for their businesses.
