The Brewers Association (BA) is pleased to announce that proposals for funding 2018 research are now being accepted. Applications are being collected online until May 31, 2017.
An overview document is available that walks applicants through the online form, and allows applicants to gather the necessary information prior to beginning their application.
In the past, successful proposals included an industry-wide scope and usually focus on:
- Malt
- Hops
- Sustainability
- Safety
- Quality
- Packaging
- Draught Beer Quality
Proposals that focus on malting barley or hop cultivation in a many-state region are far more likely to be accepted than single state proposals.
The BA awarded $440,000 in grants supporting 19 total research projects in 2017. Current year projects focus on hops (six grants) and malting barley (13 grants).
