Sam DeWitt works state government affairs for the Brewers Association, and has lobbied craft beer bills from the east coast to Hawaii, on a wide range of topics from franchise reform and excise tax to self-distribution and direct-to-consumer shipping of beer. He has a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from the University of Montana and fell in love with craft brewing as an undergraduate in Missoula.

Marc Sorini, vice president of government affairs for the Brewers Association, is a beer lover and homebrewer who has served as a counsel for small and independent craft brewers for more than two decades. Marc holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and when he’s not contemplating beverage alcohol law, he’s homebrewing with his adult kids.

He has worked in government and federal affairs for the past 15 years, having worked in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate as a Congressional staffer handling issues ranging from tax to trade to banking policy. He later lobbied on a wide variety of issues in the private sector. Sam is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he discovered his interest in craft beer as a bartender, and his interest in homebrewing with family followed shortly after.
