The Brewers Association Safety Subcommittee has a new member, Johnny Osborne, Head Brewer at TALEA Beer Co. in Brooklyn, New York. Johnny has been in the industry since 2012 working across all three tiers.

Johnny understands what working conditions can be like in a brewery and has experienced safety issues firsthand. He relates, “I worked at places that gave me the motivation to be a safety stickler at every subsequent job.”

“Unsafe working conditions are an accepted part of life as a small craft brewer, which isn’t how it should be. We all love this work, but we should be able to take the time and have the equipment to do the job safely.”

Mr. Osborne hopes to help improve the culture of safety at breweries and says, “unsafe working conditions are an accepted part of life as a small craft brewer, which isn’t how it should be. We all love this work, but we should be able to take the time and have the equipment to do the job safely.”

Subcommittee Co-Chair Chris Bogdanoff adds, “We are happy to bring Johnny’s safety expertise to the Safety Subcommittee and look forward to his contributions.”
