Call to Submit 2019 Sustainability Benchmarking Data

Tracking resource use is the first step in reducing resource use.

For all those who are utilizing the Brewers Association’s (BA) Sustainability Benchmarking Tool, this is a renewed call to submit your 2019 calendar year data. Active collection of 2019 data was put on hold earlier this year due to the onset of the current pandemic.

The BA recognizes that numerous business and operational challenges exist in this moment and in the near future. Some of you may be experiencing significant hardship and uncertainty; if this is the case, please focus on the essentials your business needs to meet your bottom line. However, if you are in a position to consider the long-term sustainability of your business, benchmarking data is a powerful way to conserve both financial and natural resources.

Learn more about the Brewers Association Sustainability Benchmarking Tool and other sustainability resources in this message from Sustainability Ambassador Matt Gacioch.

Submit Your Data by August 31st, 2020

All data will be anonymized and aggregated with the hundreds of other craft brewers tracking their monthly resource and cost usage in order to update the newest iteration of the Benchmarking Report and to create new metrics and insights to share with all brewers. Used together, the BA Sustainability Benchmarking Tool and the Benchmarking Reports help brewers decrease the use of natural resources and increase brewery profitability, while helping to ensure the availability of the resources needed to continue to brew great beer.

Please click the “Submit data for BA Benchmarking” on the main menu of your Benchmarking Tool file to create an email submission. Attach a copy of your completed Excel file to the email and submit to benchmarking@brewersassociation.org. Please ensure that your Excel file is attached and that your data is entered for all months for the KPIs you have selected to track. Missing months will invalidate the dataset.

Brewers who have not yet downloaded the BA Sustainability Benchmarking Tool can access the latest version here:

New users can choose from a basic version, which tracks 14 key performance indicators (KPIs), or an advanced version, which allows tracking of up to 39 KPIs. Most BA members will only need the functionality of the basic version.

Any questions should be directed to benchmarking@brewersassociation.org.
