Brewers Association Hosts American Craft Beer Week Reception on Capitol Hill

Pete Johnson serves as the State & Regulatory Affairs Manager for the Brewers Association (BA). He joined the BA at its inception in 2005, having previously worked as Programs Director for the Brewers Association of America. Before coming to the small brewing industry in 2001, Pete worked for 14 years with both state and federal elected officials in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

On May 14, more than 25 members of the House of Representatives joined staff from the Brewers Association to celebrate the 10th consecutive American Craft Beer Week®.

Co-chair of the House Small Brewers Caucus, Representative Peter DeFazio (D-OR) welcomed the attendees, who enjoyed sampling an array of beers from craft breweries across the country. The event highlighted the bi-partisanship of the craft brewing industry.

“There are no red states, no blue states, only brew states,” said Bob Pease, CEO of the Brewers Association, “the members of Congress who attended this event recognize and support the growing importance of the craft brewing community in their states and congressional districts.”
