The Brewers Association is now welcoming proposals for educational seminars for the 2020 Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America®.

The Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) is the number one environment in North America for concentrated, affordable brewing education and idea sharing to improve brewery quality and performance. The 2020 event will take place in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday, April 19 through Wednesday, April 22.

The CBC 2020 Seminar Selection Committee has curated a list of suggested topics that they would like to see covered at this year’s event. Interested speakers are encouraged to read the full list of suggested topics, as well as the proposal submission guidelines before filling out the proposal application in order to have the best chance of being selected.

As a “thank you” for their hard work in preparing for their presentation, selected speakers will receive a full complimentary registration to the event, including guaranteed registration for the keynote address and welcome reception.

What’s Different about CBC 2020?

Craft Brewers Conference 2020 will include an updated list of educational seminar tracks, as well as seminars presented in new and exciting formats. Interested speakers should become familiar with the new track organization and the suggested topics and seminar formats before submitting their proposals.

New & Improved Educational Tracks

At CBC 2020, attendees will have their pick of educational seminars in 14 different tracks, all led by the top minds in the beer and business worlds.

Some tracks – like the Business track introduced 2019 – are back by popular demand. Others – like the Marketing & Social Media, Planning, and Sales & Distribution tracks – have been modified to provide attendees with more focused seminar content in their areas of interest. And even more – Beer Styles, Hospitality, and Ingredients & Supplies – are brand new and intended to reflect the complexity of the craft brewing industry today.

The popular Leadership track has also been updated this year, and can now be found under the title “Thought Leadership.” The speakers in this track will discuss important high-level topics such as leading millennials, cultivating diversity, fostering change, and harnessing creativity. Leaders in the craft brewing industry from owners to taproom managers to brewers are invited to take part in these thought provoking and mind bending seminars.

The full list of educational tracks at CBC 2020 include:

  • NEW: Beer Styles
  • Brewing Operations
  • Business
  • Export
  • Government Affairs
  • NEW: Hospitality

New Seminar Formats

At CBC 2020, attendees should expect to find more than the traditonal hour-long lectures they are used to from CBCs past. The Seminar Selection Committee recognizes that there are many different ways that our attendees learn and would like to see proposals for various seminar formats. These formats could include interactive workshops, seminar series, roundtable discussions, extended-length sessions, hands-on seminars, and more.

Interested speakers are invited (and encouraged!) to be creative in their seminar proposals. Would you like to organize a series of rapid-fire social media topics? A roundtable discussion on emergency procedures for breweries? What about an extended lecture on risks to the craft beer supply chain or a hands-on beer-tography workshop? We want to hear it!
