Bridget Gauntner of Bell’s Brewery, Inc. has been named as the new chair of the BA Draught Beer Quality subcommittee, which is part of the Technical Committee structure.

Bridget has been a member of the Draught Beer Quality subcommittee for almost 5 years. Always dedicated to increasing awareness of draught quality best practices, she is partly responsible for ensuring quality in the market through education of the Bell’s sales team. Bridget has been at Bell’s since 2015, working as a sales development specialist. She began her career in the craft brewing industry at Great Lakes Brewing Company in 2010, working in the quality assurance lab and later transitioning to field quality specialist.

Bridget is taking over the chair position for Matt Meadows of New Belgium Brewing Co., who has led the subcommittee since its inception. Matt’s leadership has been invaluable over the years, especially in the development of the Draught Beer Quality Manual, now in its fourth edition, and the Draught Beer Quality Summit, held annually at the Great American Beer Festival. Matt will continue as a subcommittee member, but Bridget will take Matt’s place on the BA Technical Committee.

“I am truly honored to be offered this position! I am looking forward to serving the BA and its members as chair of the Draught Beer Quality subcommittee.”

Bridget added that, “By following Matt Meadows’ exemplary lead, I hope to keep the torch burning bright.”

The new edition of the Draught Beer Quality Manual will be introduced by Matt at this year’s Craft Brewers Conference. It will still be available for bulk purchase, but it is now being published by Brewers Publications, bringing a whole new level of reach to this invaluable industry resource. The new edition can also be downloaded for quick reference.
