The Brewers Association (BA) is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Gacioch as its new staff economist. Gacioch will bring extensive analytics experience and expertise to the organization, helping propel the behind-the-scenes statistical and economic capabilities of the BA.

Matt is well known at the BA for his contributions as its sustainability ambassador and his participation as an intern for CraftBeer.com in 2011. Beyond that, his roles have included director of operations at Wix, growth operations manager at Sonder, and director of sustainability and marketing at Short’s Brewing—for all of which he used analytical tools and reports that align with the needs of the BA. These skills and an MBA in strategy and finance from the University of Michigan make him the ideal candidate to spearhead the BA’s economic and statistical initiatives.

“We are pleased to welcome Matt Gacioch and his wealth of expertise and passion to our research team,” said Bob Pease, president and CEO of the BA. “Matt’s strategic and analytical acumen will play a pivotal role in enhancing our ability to provide timely and insightful information to our members.”

Expanding the team led by Bart Watson, BA chief economist, this hire will provide the BA new capabilities to build on its extensive data and analysis program for members. As always, members are invited to reach out to discuss how the association can help you solve your business and data challenges.

Gacioch is based in Boulder, Colo., and started his role as staff economist at the BA on Feb. 1, 2024.
