The Brewers Association was established in 2005 with the merger of the Association of Brewers (established in 1978) and the Brewers Association of America (established in 1942). The unification of the small professional and amateur brewers in the United States merged 90 years of brewing heritage and equity, championing the unique interests of America’s small and independent brewing community. See Mission & History.

The Bylaws of the Brewers Association, Inc. establishes a set of rules by which the Association is governed as a not-for-profit organization.
