What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I am the head brewer/owner of Lost Signal Brewing Company in Springfield, Mo. I started drinking craft beer in college as a way for people to stop stealing my beer. I eventually decided to try my hand at homebrewing and it took off from there.

What’s new at Lost Signal?

We only have three year-round beers so there is always something new on tap.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

The camaraderie and the way we take care of each other. It’s friendly competition.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.

I believe beer goes with anything. We do a different beer and food flight every month at the brewery.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

My three wonderful children.

What’s your favorite beer from another brewery?

The Temptress from Lakewood Brewing.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

All over Germany. It’s amazing to see the regional styles.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

I have started baking bread and experimenting with different yeasts and the different styles of bread they produce.
