What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I’m the founder/CEO and jack of all trades/master of none [at BearWaters Brewing Co. in Waynesville, N.C.]. I started as a serial homebrewer and got kicked out of the house!
What’s new at BearWaters?
Currently we are expanding and we recently welcomed Dennis, our new 15 bbl brewhouse.
What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
The best part of the industry is creating products that people love to share. We live for our customers because our customers become our friends.
What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Is there really time away from the brewery?

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?
I have a soft spot for Oskar Blues Ten Fidy.
What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Seattle, Wash., hands down. Seafood and craft beer overlooking the water: pure paradise!
