What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I am the President of Biscayne Bay Brewing Company. I started my journey in the industry as a restaurant owner and decided to open a craft focused restaurant in Miami in 2011 after falling in love with craft beer. Soon thereafter, I opened one of the first craft breweries in Miami in 2014. I believe there were four of us then.

What’s new at Biscayne Bay?
We are opening a new tap room and brewery in Downtown Miami at an old historic post office. We’re looking forward to being the first brewery in a long time in the historic heart of the city.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
The people! It’s been awesome to meet so many great people at every level. From fellow brewery owners, to incredibly talented brewers, sales reps, taproom staff, BA staff, and of course the loyal customer base!

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.
Tough to pick one. I’ve been lucky to have some incredible meals thanks to the BA! Great pairings courtesy of chef Adam Dulye in Boulder and at Savor. My go-to is our Miami Pale Ale with a churrasco or Picanha on the grill.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Serving others.

What’s your favorite beer from another brewery?
Allagash White.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Reading. I love to read everything and anything I can get my hands on. And on the weekends, grilling and smoking meat whenever possible.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
This ones easy. Munich, Germany. It might be the city where I fell in love with beer.
