What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I am a partner and manage the media, marketing, social, events, and promotion aspects of Fleur De Lis Brew Works [in Seneca Falls, N.Y.]. I’m also behind the bar at the beer parlour as much as possible connecting with our customers.

What’s new at Fleur De Lis?

We just opened May 20, so it feels like everything is new!

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

Belonging to a group of people who are working together toward a common goal of promoting small, independent breweries who focus on quality, freshness, and a great beer drinking experience. For the most part, other businesses want you to succeed; when you are successful, it elevates the rest of the community of breweries.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.

I love to dip pretzel rods into our grapefruit-forward Uncle Nit’s Wit. The saltiness of the pretzel and the light tartness of the beer are a great pairing.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

Since we are new, I’m spending a good amount of my time promoting the brewery. I still have my day job, so another 40+ hours is dedicated to that. Otherwise, I love to enjoy the outdoors, whether it’s gardening, keeping the brewery property looking great, hiking, biking, or fitness.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

My husband, Craig, and I dreamed up the idea of opening a brewery while in Scottsdale. We were there for a business meeting and enjoyed visiting local breweries. After a few pints at Scottsdale Brewing Company, we decided that opening a brewery could be our next adventure. It was a very memorable night…the beginnings of Fleur De Lis Brew Works. Just 17 months later, our dream is a reality.
