What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I’m one of the co-founders of Riverlands Brewing Company in St. Charles, Ill. as well as our head brewer. I was an avid homebrewer, and I was fortunate enough to have friends in the industry who let me volunteer. I gained enough experience to feel confident to run production in our brewery.

What’s new at Riverlands?
Everything! We’ve only been open six months. Getting consistent canning runs done with a mobile canner is probably the biggest thing we’re currently doing.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
The people in the industry are some of the most generous, helpful, and just generally awesome people I’ve ever met.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.
Tacos and a lighter lager like a Pilsner.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Helping raise two awesome stepsons.

What’s your favorite beer from another brewery?
There are too many to choose just one!

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Grill food on the patio on a warm day and relax.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Oktoberfest in Munich. While I’ve been to some of the best breweries all across the U.S., Oktoberfest is just a different experience altogether. The festbiers there are delicious as well.
