What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
My wife and I own and operate Cactus Land Brewing Co. in Adkins, Texas. Between the two of us, we do enough work for a team of 10 people. It’s not an easy task, but it’s worth it to be a true independent family-owned brewery. My current role is brewing, cellaring, recordkeeping, beertending…you name it.

What’s new at Cactus Land?
We recently added a stage, covered patio, and large open fenced area/playground for children to run. We are a family-friendly brewery with live music and food trucks. Each opening day for us is more of an event than just an ordinary taproom/bar.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
The friends we make and the memories we share. We have met so many awesome people in this industry and everyone is willing to lend a hand.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.
Lobster roll and a New England IPA. The two pair so well together.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Graduating from Texas Tech University.

What’s your favorite beer from another brewery?
I’ve never been able to nail down that one beer that is my favorite. My favorite styles are typically stouts, NEIPAs, saisons, and sour/wild ales.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Explore new places with my wife, hike, go on brewery trips, and spend time with our dachshunds.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Portland, Maine. We went for our honeymoon and have been back since. It’s our favorite beer town. The food, beer, people, and atmosphere are the best in the world.
