What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I am co-founder and head brewer at Henderson Brewing Company in Henderson, Ky. I got started in the industry after my business partners and I decided we could be the ones to bring craft beer to Henderson.

What’s new at Henderson Brewing?

We are only nine months old, so everything is new.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

The inclusion and collaboration. While we are technically competitors, if one of us produces a bad beer, that might turn someone away from trying craft beer again. I’ve found that everyone has been extremely helpful in our endeavor.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.

Pistachios and helles.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

Raising a funny three-year-old girl with my wife.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

Asheville, N.C. I went at the beginning of my foray into craft beer because my wife wanted to take me to the Vanderbilt mansion. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was a craft beer mecca!

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

Hang out with my wife. Between my full-time job and the brewery, I enjoy as much time with her as I can.
