What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I’m the beer gear retail sales director at North Coast Brewing Company in Fort Bragg, Calif. I was recruited from the Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce after having a great relationship with NCBC as a chamber member.

What’s new at North Coast?

Our Laguna Baja Mexican-Style Lager is now a year-round beer. It is delicious!

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

I learn something new every day.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.

I absolutely love that our fish and chips batter is made with our Scrimshaw Pilsner. But to top it off, adding the waffle fries with fresh garlic to this dish really pairs well with a pint of Scrimshaw.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

Backpacking solo through Europe when I was 27, back before the euro or cell phones. I made lifelong friendships that I will treasure for life.

What’s your favorite beer from another brewery?

Guinness.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

Play fetch with our dogs on the beach, dig in the dirt and plant things in the garden, walk on the headlands looking for whales, have friends over for food and drink, draw/sketch/paint and sculpt when I make time.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

The beer gardens in Munich years ago left a lasting impression. The giant pretzel with cheese and the simple but satisfying Augustiner lager stand out for me.
