What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I am head brewer and managing partner at Broken Strings Brewery in Orlando, Fla. I got my start working at a small brewpub here in town and became great friends with the head brewer. He took me under his wing and really helped me grow my understanding of brewing beer.

What’s new at Broken Strings?
We just tapped our Cotton Candy Grape Sour Ale.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

There aren’t many industries where you can call up your competitors and ask for advice or help with something and get so much response. I don’t think that kind of camaraderie is present in many other industries.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.
IPA and Buffalo wings.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Going back to college and getting my degree.

What’s your favorite beer from another brewery?
Bierstadt Lagerhaus Slow Pour Pils.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Enjoy a concert with my wife and friends.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

Puerto Rico. My grandfather was a master brewer on the island for many years, so having a chance to visit and see that history in person was amazing. The reception I got from the local brewers was great. They really made me feel at home on such a beautiful island.
