What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I currently work as the Regional/Southwest sales rep and ambassador for Durango Brewing [in Durango, Colo.]. I got into the industry at Ska Brewing as a packaging tech in 2009 when I turned 21. I’ve worked at A-B doing distribution and line cleaning, Animas Brewing as a server, and at my family’s brewery in Honolulu, The Brewseum, as the operations manager.

What’s new at Durango Brewing?

We are in the midst of exponential growth. We’re working on canning beer in late summer/fall and expanding distribution.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

It’s a small, tight-knit community. Everyone seems to know each other in the industry and is a family.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.

Tacos and Mexi beer!

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

Running marathons and building the family business up.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

Drinking Guinness on draft in Ireland.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

River, bike, run, hike, raft, fish, and travel.
