What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I’m in business development for Ska Brewing [in Durango, Colo.]. I got started by hanging out in the taproom and getting sponsored to race whitewater kayaks for Ska Brewing back in the late 90s.

What’s new at Ska Brewing?

We have loads of exciting beers coming off of our Mod Project as well as some new Ska beers.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

The community itself is an amazing experience. There’s so much to learn about the people and their breweries. Everyone has such diverse backgrounds and that makes for interesting stories.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.

Any dessert and beer that complement each other.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

Building a stellar life in Durango.

What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?

Odell IPA.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

Paddleboard, snowboard, movies, bike, fish, hunt, and hike.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

El Salvador. I enjoyed many beers at Cadejo Brewing Company. Some locals decided to drive me there when they found out I worked at a brewery.
