As Federal Affairs Manager Katie Marisic recently reported, U.S. legislators are stopping by local breweries to show their support. The visits continued last week with Sen. Blumenthal’s trip to Thomas Hooker Brewing Company in Connecticut.

Curt Cameron, president at Thomas Hooker, hosted Sen. Blumenthal on a tour of the brewery and thanked him for his support of small breweries and federal excise tax reduction. They discussed how the savings would help the brewery expand and add jobs.

“This is money that goes directly into new equipment and paying new employees,” Cameron said in a local news interview.

Cameron also expressed concern over the new tariffs on steel and aluminum, which could impact small breweries across the country.
