US Senator Charles Schumer (NY) visited New York area craft brewers Tuesday to announce that he would be joining over 20 of his bipartisan colleagues to support a bill that would reduce the federal excise tax paid by small brewers, the result of this proposal being that the saved taxes would be then reinvested “in their business, hire new employees, and revitalize downtown communities.”
The legislation was introduced last Congress by Senator John Kerry (D-MA), and earned 27 cosponsors and broad bipartisan support.
