New York City Tax Credit Advances

Pete Johnson served as the State & Regulatory Affairs Manager for the Brewers Association (BA) until 2024. He joined the BA at its inception in 2005, having previously worked as Programs Director for the Brewers Association of America. Before coming to the small brewing industry in 2001, Pete worked for 14 years with both state and federal elected officials in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

Passing both legislative chambers, Assembly Bill 1719 provides for a beer production business tax credit for small brewers that produce 60 million or fewer gallons of beer in New York City. The tax credit consists of 12 cents per gallon for the first 500,000 gallons of beer produced, and three and eighty-six one hundredths cents per gallon thereafter up to 15,500,000 gallons.
