New Glarus Brewing Co.’s owner, Deb Carey, will once again represent small business at the White House as she sits with first lady Michelle Obama during the State of the Union Tuesday evening. Late last year, Carey met with President Obama and other small business owners to discuss fiscal cliff issues and how to address them.

This invitation represents the importance of craft breweries in local economies. New Glarus, which is only distributed in the state of Wisconsin, recently announced an expansion which will increase the breweries production capacity and likely lead to job creation.

During the State of the Union, the President will unveil policy proposals that small business owners, like Carey, could potentially benefit from.

Congratulations to Deb Carey for receiving this honor and for being a representative of United States small business.
