International Alcohol Labeling Standards under Discussion

The United Nation’s World Health Organization (WHO) is proposing that the Codex Committee on Food Labeling initiate a project to develop international standards for alcohol beverage labeling. The Codex Alimentarius, or “Food Code,” is a collection of standards, guidelines and codes of practice adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission, the central part of the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Program established to protect consumer health and promote fair practices in food trade.
