The Brewers Association (BA), Beer Institute (BI), and American Beverage Association (ABA) have submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Commerce concerning the investigation into the possible effects on national security of imported aluminum. The comments express the position that no action to adjust imports is warranted, however, should the Department make a recommendation to take such action, that imports of certain aluminum products used in the production of beverage cans, such as can sheet and can lid stock, are not impacted.
