Coinciding with the first day of American Craft Beer Week, Shmaltz Brewing Company hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at their new Clifton Park, NY brewery on May 13. Congressman Paul Tonko was in attendance along with several other local government officials. As a co-sponsor of the small brewer federal excise tax legislation, H.R. 494, and member of the House Small Brewers Caucus, Representative Tonko acknowledges the impact small breweries have on local economies. This new facility is expected to create 10 new jobs.
Previously a contract brewery, their new facility will have a 20,000 barrel capacity. The grand opening is currently scheduled for July 7.
