Alcohol Task Force Bill Amended in CO Senate

Pete Johnson served as the State & Regulatory Affairs Manager for the Brewers Association (BA) until 2024. He joined the BA at its inception in 2005, having previously worked as Programs Director for the Brewers Association of America. Before coming to the small brewing industry in 2001, Pete worked for 14 years with both state and federal elected officials in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

Passing the House and amended in the Senate, H.B. 1417 would, among several provisions, create a task force in the Department of Revenue to study the regulation of alcohol beverages. The task force is required to review the current statutes regulating alcohol beverages and make recommendations concerning how to modernize, clarify, and harmonize the statutes and report its findings to the General Assembly by December 1, 2023.
