The proposed merger between Anheuser-Busch InBev and SAB Miller is on the minds of small and independent brewers across the country. The Brewers Association (BA) has been tracking this issue closely since its announcement and even testified on the issue in early December.
To reiterate the concerns regarding the affect this merger could have on small and independent brewers, BA President and CEO Bob Pease penned an op-ed, which was published by The New York Times.
In the article Pease states, “America’s beer drinkers want choice. They want variety. They want quality and authenticity. As an industry, we need to give them that — but we can do so only if the market is a level playing field.”
