American Craft Beer Week (May 10-16) is just around the corner and it is going to be bigger than ever. This year, we’re working with Tripadvisor and Untappd to amplify our message to beer lovers and help you drive sales. Below are free and easy ways to help you put your best foot forward, tap into the campaign, and be ready to welcome your customers back.

1. Download Your Free Asset Toolkit.

No time to develop graphics for your social media marketing efforts? We’ve got you covered. The Brewers Association has a library of free, customizable social assets to build support for your brewery, brewpub, or taproom. Not a marketing ninja? No problem. We have easy-to-follow tip sheets for how to customize these assets for your brand! Grab what you need.

2. Take Control of Your FREE Online Listings.

Customize your brewery’s listing details, upload photos, and more to show customers what makes your business special.

2a. Claim/Update Your Tripadvisor Listing.

Get discovered on the world’s largest travel site. Basic listings are free and will help increase your brewery’s exposure to a large, qualified audience and give you access to many free marketing tools. Getting listed is easy — start by going to tripadvisor.com/owners and type the name of your business in the search field provided. Once your business listing appears in the dropdown list below, select it and click the “Claim Your Business” button. If your business is new or not listed on Tripadvisor yet, you can initiate a listing. Click “List it now” below the search box. This will bring you to a page where you can request a listing for your brewery.

2b. Claim/Update Your Untappd Listing.

Be sure the nine million Untappd users have your most current information! Find your brewery by going to untappd.com/breweries and using the search box or go directly to the brewery page if you know it. If your brewery page is already on Untappd, all you need to do is submit a claim to manage the page by clicking on the “Claim This Brewery” button to start the claim process. If you are a new brewery or a brewery that is not yet in the database, you’ll need to get yourself added to Untappd before you can claim your brewery page. To add your brewery and create a user account, go to untappd.com/create. Once claimed, you will receive login instructions, and you can begin managing your page and interacting with users.

3. Sign Up to Offer a Brew Guru Member Deal.

The Brew Guru app, powered by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA), connects 40,000 beer lovers and homebrewers to deals at participating breweries and homebrew shops nationwide. An interactive map on our Brew Guru app makes finding participating businesses easy whether at home or while traveling. Push notifications alert members when they are near your location. To participate in the AHA Member Deals program and list your brewery, contact deals@brewersassociation.org.

4. Show Your Independence Loud and Proud.

Order your free Independent Craft Brewer Seal sign tacker to display in your brewpub or tasting room and let your customers know that they are supporting small and independent craft breweries. Write us at seal@brewersassociation.org to order your 15″ x 25″ metal sign.

5. Contact the Brewery Concierge.

We recognize that teams may be smaller post-COVID-19. A dedicated customer service rep is available to Brewers Association voting brewery members to assist you with general awareness and “how-to” advice ranging from how to use the asset toolkits and marketing ideas, to how to maximize Tripadvisor and Untappd’s free listings. The concierge can be reached at concierge@brewersassociation.org. Not a member? Join/renew today.

6. Connect with Your Local Media.

The media wants to hear your stories and the only cost for coverage is sweat equity and a good contact list. The Brewers Association offers its U.S. voting brewery members free access to one of two key media lists: a statewide list (email addresses provided) or a nationwide list (phone only) for various food, alcohol, and beverage media contacts. Request your list(s) today.
