This seminar will focus on the three major components of a successful traceability program: labeling, tracking, and practicing tracing. It will cover these practices as they relate to the three critical tracking points: raw materials, in process batches, and finished goods. Examples of tracking will be shared that span the gap of very basic, paper-based methods to more advanced, software-based methods to meet the needs of a diverse audience. Mock tracing exercises will show how the pieces come together to ensure the raw materials can be traced forward to finished goods and vice versa.
Learning Objectives:
- Why traceability is important for breweries
- What needs to be tracked and documented for successful traceability
- Labeling best practices to facilitate tracking
- How to get started, including options for methods and tools
