An Engineering Economic Toolkit Applied to Sustainability for the New Artisan Brewery: Examples Across the Production Enterprise

Craft Brewers Conference 2013
Location: Washington, D.C.
Speakers: Jaime Jurado

Brewery planning offers opportunities to explore prospective decisions in equipping the brewery. Using tools such as ROI and Life Cycle Cost Analyses to evaluate options, viable options are compared and choices are supported. Clarity can be brought to possibilities that may be reviewed at later stages in brewery volume after startup and breakeven are met. The presentation offers specific examples in different areas where a more sustainable decision was based on fiscal calculation, and examples where a decision to postpone implementation until breakeven (or later) was the prudent determination.
