What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I am co-owner, founder, and currently in charge of sales and distribution for our brewery [Cutters Brewing Co. in Avon, Ind.]

What’s new at Cutters?

We started as a small nanobrewery but recently expanded into a 30-barrel production brewery (all brand new equipment). It’s been an exciting and somewhat nerve-wracking transition.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

The sense of community with fellow craft beer drinkers and brewers. It constantly amazes me that there is such a collegial atmosphere among would-be local craft beer competitors. I truly enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship in the local beer industry.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

Spend time with my wife and two teenage daughters (travel, sporting events, etc.)

What’s your favorite food and beer pairing?

I’d pass up lobster, steak, etc. for a truly great burger paired with an over-the-top hoppy pale/IPA.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

Finding a woman to spend 19+ years with me who loves making and appreciating craft beer as much as (or more than) I do. I hit the jackpot!

What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?

Heady Topper from The Alchemist. It’s heaven in a can.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

One travel destination was memorable due to the lack of great beer. My Caribbean cruise to Mexico was excruciating due to the lack of good beer and being captive to a ship/location where I could not go “find” great beer. It honestly ruined my vacation.
