What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I am co-owner/brewer at Vertigo Brewing in Hillsboro, Ore. I had 10-plus years of homebrewing before making the plunge into the industry.

What’s new at Vertigo?

We have 7-barrel fermenters/brite tanks and a brewhouse on the way.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

How completely opposite it is of my former career in the high tech industry.  I cannot believe the willingness of other breweries to provide support, knowledge, etc.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

Time away? Not much of that with our upstart. I spend time with the family when I can.

What’s your favorite food and beer pairing?

It’s a simple one, cheese and IPA.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

Raising two amazing kids.

What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?

Ninkasi Tricerahops.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

Barbados and Banks beer.
