What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I am owner/president/head brewer/distributor/sales manager at Beaver Creek Brewery in Wibaux, Mont. We started in the craft beer industry two years ago after homebrewing for 10 years.
What’s new at Beaver Creek?
We are in the process of our fourth production expansion in two years, moving from a 4.5 bbl to a 10 bbl system.
What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
The camaraderie of other brewers and having the common goal of making and enjoying fine hand-crafted beer.
What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Is there time away from the brewery? Spending time with my wife Sandra and daughter Jennifer, playing Honky Tonk music, hunting and riding horses.
What’s your favorite food and beer pairing?
Our Paddlefish Stout made with espresso and a hot chocolate chip cookie, which can be found at Beaver Creek Brewery.
What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Being happily married for 17 years and a father for 15 years
What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?
Stone Arrogant Bastard Ale.
What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer.
Hefeweizen in Munich, Germany.
