What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I am the head brewer, facility manager, owner, bottler, labeler, keg washer, keg filler, Mr. Fix It, etc. [at Hall Brewing Co. in Parker, Colo.]. I got started when my grandpa Pete taught me how to brew. I went to UC Davis to continue my education and have brewed at several local breweries prior to opening Hall Brewing Co. in 2012.
What’s new at Hall Brewing?
We are opening a tap room…hopefully in the next week or so!
What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
The brewing community is a very tight-knit family. Everybody helps everybody else with complete selflessness.
What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Time away? What’s that?
What’s your favorite food and beer pairing?
We attended a beer/cheese pairing at Great Divide that was pretty outstanding!
What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Being a firefighter! Would go back in a heartbeat if it wasn’t for the bum knee.
What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?
Cuvee Van De Keizer.
What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Would love to partake, but haven’t really done any beer touring outside of the fabulous state of Colorado!
