What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
My current position is assistant brewmaster and co-president [at Comanche Creek Brewing Co. in Eagle Nest, N.M.]. My husband and I started homebrewing together, and we decided to take a big leap and start a brewery.
What’s new at Comanche Creek?
Since we just opened at the end of June, I would say that everything is new. However, we did just brew our seasonal smoked beer to be ready for winter.
What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
The craft brewing community is a friendly group of people. It has been fun getting to know them, and getting to taste all the good beers of course.
What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
I like to camp, hike and ski.
What’s your favorite food and beer pairing?
I would have to go with a classic burger and our Deadman Pale Ale.
What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
When not working at the brewery, I am a nurse.
What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?
Apricot Blonde from Dry Dock Brewing Co.
What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Germany. It is hard to beat the beer that you can find in their local beer gardens.
