What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I am the owner and brewmaster at Broken Plow Brewery [in Greeley, Colo.]. I started homebrewing 30 years ago and it has been a passion of mine ever since!
What’s new at Broken Plow?
We are constantly trying new recipes for different styles of beer and are upgrading our equipment as we are able to make our processes more efficient.
What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
We love the friendships we have developed with other local and not so local brewers. They are always willing to help with advice, ingredients, or just a good word!
What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
I don’t have much time away, but I like cycling and hunting.
What’s your favorite food and beer pairing?
Our Signature Chili Wheat and any Mexican food.
What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
My family: my wife of 38 years, two children, and four grandchildren.
What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?
Firestone Walker [Union Jack] IPA.
What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Hawaii.
