What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

I am the controller [at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Fla.]. I was a beer geek who just happened to have a hobby of working in finance.

What’s new at Cigar City?

We are currently planning an expansion.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?

The community itself. The competition is still very friendly and fun.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.

Raw oysters and saisons in the spring and fall.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

U.S. Army veteran, Combat Engineer.

What’s your favorite beer that your brewery does not produce?

Other Half’s Green Diamonds Double IPA.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

I lived in Bamberg, Germany for two years. It is a small city (fewer than 100,000) and had 10 breweries at the time. The food and beer of Franconia are a personal favorite.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

Travel as often as possible.
