When you invest in a canning line, you want to be sure that your cans are properly sealed, so it’s important that you understand how to do regular seam inspections to prevent problems before they arise. In this session, sponsored by Pneumatic Scale | Angelus, speaker Grant Smith focuses on how to complete a seam inspection on the cans coming off your line and takes a deep dive into seam formation and how to interpret critical measurements, including overlap.

Pneumatic Scale | Angelus

Grant Smith started his career as a brewer at Alcatraz Brewing in Indianapolis, Indiana, before moving to Portland, Oregon in 2011. It was there that he fell into mobile packaging, and hasn't been able to get canning out of his system ever since. Before coming over to the OEM side of the business in 2022 when he joined the Pneumatic Scale | Angelus and BW Packaging team, Grant was the packaging manager at Ecliptic Brewing. When not working on canning lines, he spends his time riding motorcycles, playing in bands, and getting outside as much as he can.
