For the second consecutive year, the EDP had a booth presence at the Craft Beer Rising festival in London.

Now in its sixth year, Craft Beer Rising has become a highly regarded trade and consumer beer show attracting more than 12,000 attendees over three days, including 4,000 for the trade-only sessions. This year 175 breweries exhibited with around 1,000 beers on offer.

Steve Parr, Export Development Program manager, and Lotte Peplow, BA UK Media Relations, represented the Brewers Association and lead the way in presenting 40 beers from 14 member breweries to trade, media, and consumers during the three-day event. The BA’s presence was covered in the Morning Advertiser and elsewhere.

In addition, Lew Lukens, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in London, visited the show to lend his support to American craft brewers. His visit was covered by Channel 4, and should result in national TV coverage for American craft beer this summer.

The UK is the second largest export market for American craft beer and accounts for 10.5% of exports, and grew 7.1% in 2017. With the dynamic UK market continuing to grow, this is an important development for reaching a new audience for craft beer and raising awareness about quality, diversity, and flavor.
