Member breweries of the Export Development Program are invited to participate in the 2022 Planète Bière, taking place in Paris, France on March 27 & 28. Additionally, on March 26 the EDP will host an American Craft Beer night at a local Paris craft beer bar.

Planète Bière is the largest craft beer tasting event in France. Dedicated industry and consumer tasting sessions are complemented by workshops and seminars. Past iterations of this event have proven to be effective for promoting brands already in-market as well as introducing beers and breweries interested in exporting to the fast-growing French craft beer market.

EDP member beers will be poured at the American Craft Beer Pairing Booth. Pairings TBA. Additional opportunities such as seminars and workshops featuring American craft beer are expected to be added to the activity schedule.

The BA’s presence at the 2022 Planète Bière will continue to complement the EDP’s digital and social media marketing campaign in France. The campaign features a website dedicated to creatively introducing French consumers to American craft beer available in the market. The website also points consumers to local retailers that carry ACB, thereby generating greater awareness and sales opportunities for EDP member breweries. Please be sure to check out our website at www.discoverusabeer.com.

Brewery Representative Travel & Travel Reimbursement

EDP member brewers that currently export or are considering exporting to France are strongly encouraged to send a representative to participate in EDP-organized activities at the 2022 show.

Brewery representative presence enhances the impact of promoting American craft beer abroad and provides a valuable opportunity for brewery staff to better understand market opportunities and engage media, trade, and consumers for brand promotion. EDP activity planning is underway and may include but is not limited to:

  • American Craft Beer booth presence in the main hall for presentation of samples and meetings with importers and other trade.
  • Seminars aimed at promotion and differentiation of American craft beer
  • Guided market visit of local breweries, retailers, and distributors around Paris
  • Opportunity to brew a collaboration beer with a Paris-based craft brewery.

Travel assistance in the form of expense reimbursement is being made available for brewery representatives traveling to Planète Bière on a limited basis. Interested brewery staff are asked to complete an online application by February 7. Review and selection of applications will take place on an ongoing basis and will be determined using criteria including the timing of application, number of applicants, and application alignment with the activity’s mission and goals.

Cost

The Brewers Association will cover the cost of consolidation, airfreight shipment to France, cold storage, customs clearance, and fees associated with hosting an American craft beer booth at the event. Participating breweries are asked to cover the cost of delivering samples to the consolidation site.

Registration Instructions

1. Complete the registration form at the bottom of this page by February 14.

Beer requirement: Please send up to four brands, up to two cases per brand.

2. Deliver beer to the east coast consolidation warehouse by February 18.

Label each case “BrewersAssoc/Paris” or print/affix this label.

Cases that are not labeled properly, damaged, or do not arrive by February 18 are not guaranteed inclusion in shipment to France.

It is the responsibility of the brewery to correctly identify, package and dispatch samples in a safe manner for consolidated shipment. Please safely pack the samples for shipping and include the original case/tray inside the outer carton if possible. This is important as the beers will be palletized tightly for air shipment and excess packaging will be discarded at consolidation. Parcel shipments should be packed safely so that they are not subject to damage by the courier service.
