The Brussels Beer Challenge aims to promote the beer industry in a market that is not only a benchmark for beer but also home to connoisseurs. During three days a tasting panel of internationally renowned beer connoisseurs will taste over 1500 beers from all over the world. The participating beers are divided into categories based on origin, type, and style and then evaluated. Entries/Cost:

The Brewers Association will cover the entry freefor up to five brands (bottles and cans only) per brewery and consolidated airfreight shipment for Export Development Program members.

Breweries can submit more than five brands but will be asked to remit payment for the number of brands submitted beyond five. The fee per additional brand is $195–if you enter more than five brands, you will be invoiced after registration has closed.

Registration Instructions:

Step 1: Complete the Brussels Beer Challenge Competition Entry Registration by September 16.

On the Brussels Beer Challenge payment page, select “Brewers Association (USA)”. Brewers Association Export Development Program members do not pay any registration fees.

The Export Development Program will cover the entry cost of the first five beers– the BA will invoice you for any entries, in addition to the first five, after the registration has closed. The fee per additional brand is $175.

Step 2: Complete the EDP consolidated shipment form at the bottom of this page by September 16.

Step 3: Deliver beer to the east coast consolidation point by September 17. Please label all cases “BA/Brussels Beer Challenge”.

Required Beer Volumes

Per competition guidelines, the number of bottles/cans per entry is as follows:

  • Six bottles/cans for units packaged in volumes at or below 0.5l (16oz)
  • Three bottles/cans for units packaged in volumes above 0.5l

If easier, breweries can send full cases of bottles/cans of each entry for the competition.

Entry labeling is not required for Brussels Beer Challenges. Entries are identified by commercial labels.

Shipping for Consolidation

Entries are due at the east coast consolidation warehouse by September 17, 2020. Entries that do not arrive on time are not guaranteed participation.

Due to multiple deadlines for events occurring in a short time span, EDP member breweries may deliver entries for the European Beer Star and Brussels Beer Challenge to the east coast consolidation warehouse in one shipment. Cases for a given event must be individually packaged and labeled for the appropriate event. Consolidation warehouses will not sort or re-pack mixed cases.
