The Brussels Beer Challenge aims to promote the beer industry in a market that is not only a benchmark for beer but also home to connoisseurs. During three days a tasting panel of 75 internationally renowned beer connoisseurs will taste over 1100 beers from all over the world. The participating beers are divided into categories based on origin, type and style and then evaluated. At the end of the three tasting days, the best beers, in each category, will be awarded a gold, silver or bronze award. For more information, please visit: www.brusselsbeerchallenge.com.

Event Timeline

The Brussels Beer Challenge competition judging takes place October 28-30, 2017. The Brewers Association Export Development Program will present these awards to brewery representatives at its own ceremony at the 2018 Craft Brewers Conference in Nashville, TN.

Entries/Cost

To participate in the competition with the BA EDP, please fill out the Brussels Beer Challenge Competition Entry Form by September 26.  Competition beers due to the New Jersey warehouse by September 26.

IMPORTANT:

On the payment page with the Brussels Beer Challenge, click: “Brewers Association (USA)”.  Brewers Association Export Development Program members do not pay any registration fees. The BA will pay the registration fees for all participating EDP members, even if you enter more than 3 entries – the BA will invoice you after the registration has closed and is finalized for additional entries.

The BA will cover the entry cost and a consolidated shipment of beer via air freight from the BA New Jersey warehouse to Belgium for Export Development Program members for up to three brands (bottles and cans only) per brewery.

Breweries can submit more than three brands but will be asked to remit payment for the number of brands submitted beyond three. The fee per additional brand is $185 – if you enter more than 3 brands, you will be invoiced after registration has closed. You can enter as many beers as you want.

Beer Required

  • Number of bottles/cans per entry: 12 for contents below 0.5l (16 oz) ; 6 for contents above 0.5l (16 oz)
    • 12 oz bottles/cans – 12 bottles/cans
    • 22 oz / 750 ml bottles = 6 bottles
    • 16 oz bottles/cans = 6 bottles/cans needed for the competition

If you want, you can send a full case of bottles or cans of each entry/brand for the competition. Please label your cases “Brussels Beer Challenge”.

Deadlines

Register with event organizers by September 26, 2017.

Beers to New Jersey warehouse by September 26, 2017.

Beers that do not arrive on time are not guaranteed participation.
