Nevada brewers continue to watch Assembly Bill 404, a bill that would clarify language in statute about the legality of taprooms in the state and offer out-of-state direct-to-consumer shipping of craft beer. The bill has passed both Assembly committees and is awaiting a floor vote before moving to the Senate and, hopefully, being fast-tracked for passage. The bill was cut down substantially during the process with input from wholesale and labor interests. Getting them to drop their opposition was key to the bill’s potential passage. BA staff worked hand in hand with the Nevada Craft Brewers Association and their lobbying team to get it to this point and will continue to work on delivering on this crucial legislation.
