In August 2024, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) proposed a new standard: Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings. The standard would require employers to create a plan to evaluate and control heat hazards in the workplace and would set forth employer obligations and necessary measures to effectively protect employees from hazardous heat.
