National Beer Day (Tuesday, April 7) is a celebration of the first major victory in the battle to repeal Prohibition. It’s also an untapped opportunity for brewers. It’s a chance to show pride in what we do, and some swagger about who we are and what we contribute.

Neighborhood taprooms and brewpubs like yours are some of the last great gathering places we have. There are powerful forces threatening the spirit of these community spaces: our phones. Wonderful as these devices may be, they can get in the way of one of the most important traditions we share as Americans: communing over beer.

April 7 is our moment to flip the script: put the screens down and pick the pints up.

When breweries move together, people notice. A shared message. A coordinated post. Taprooms are buzzing on the same day in towns and cities across the country. That kind of alignment builds real momentum. It reminds customers that beer is local, independent, and stitched into the fabric of their communities. Behind every glass is a team of real humans who show up early, stay late, and care deeply about what’s in it.

Let’s own April 7 as a full-on craft beer movement. Download the toolkit. Make it your own. Rally your regulars. Show up together. Show up loud, show up proud, and make it matter.
