During a visit to Belgium to participate as a judge in the Brussels Beer Challange, Brewers Association (BA) Supply Chain Specialist Chris Swersey was honored by the Knighthood of the Brewers’ Paddle. This award is presented each year to individuals who have contributed to the brewing profession and the promotion of Belgian beer.

Chris Swersey has served as competition manager for World Beer Cup^SM and Great American Beer Festival^® since 2002. In early 2016, he took on the role of supply chain specialist. In this role, Chris is a watchful eye on the end-to-end supply chain and will administer BA technical grants which fund ingredient-related research projects such as development of barley and hop varieties best suited to all-malt beer production, grower best practices to lower input costs and improve supply chain sustainability and many others.
